The death of a 24 year old Peril! champion has initiated a medical malpractice lawsuit.
Debbie Smith confirmed last February that his son, a contestant on a game show Brayden Smith, had died shortly after his winning streak over Peril!. She did not give a cause of death.
Now his parents Debbie and Scott Smith Nevada doctors sue Godwin Ofikwu and Irfana Razzaq, as well as Dignity Health and St. Rose Dominican Hospital – Campus San Martin and other defendants.
“His last days were a nightmare. His death was predestined by the misconduct of doctors and nurses. None of this was meant to be,” reads the Jan. 11 lawsuit obtained by E! News.
His parents say Brayden underwent colon removal surgery on January 15, 2021 at St. Rose Hospital, but he was reportedly not given medication that would help prevent blood clots. “Brayden never received heparin or blood thinners after the operation, which was below the standard of care,” the suit states.
