Norton Healthcare Seeks Community Feedback on West Louisville Hospital Services and Features

On February 23, 2022, Norton Healthcare announced plans to build the first newly built hospital in West Louisville in over 150 years. Louisville’s largest health care system is partnering with Kentucky’s Goodwill Industries to transform the corner of 28th Street and Broadway into a “campus of opportunity.”

To make this campus as successful as possible, Norton Healthcare is working with healthcare providers, families and local leaders to identify services that will benefit everyone. Norton Healthcare leaders want to hear from community members about the services and features they would like to see available at the hospital. Feedback from residents and others who work in or frequently visit the area will help ensure that the new hospital has what the community needs.

To make it easier to receive community feedback, a survey is now available in English, Spanish, and Swahili, and should only take a few minutes to complete. The online survey is available at NortonHealthcare.com/West-Louisville-Survey. Paper surveys for groups or organizations can be requested by email WestLouisvilleHospital@nortonhealthcare.org.

“Norton Healthcare intended to provide access to quality medical treatment by removing barriers so that all residents can lead healthy and prosperous lives,” said Russell F. Cox, President and CEO of Norton Healthcare. “To best provide this access, we are designing the hospital by listening to and collecting valuable feedback from families, providers, organizations and businesses.”

The survey is completely confidential. Feedback provided by individuals will be used solely by Norton Healthcare in the design of the new hospital. Keep up to date with the progress of the installation on WestLouisvilleHospital.orgwhere you can sign up to receive e-newsletters.

The hospital’s comprehensive services will include offices for adult and pediatric primary care providers, an emergency room, inpatient care and outpatient functions. Imaging services, including X-rays and CT scans, will be available, as well as specialist care, including women’s health, cardiology, neurology and endocrinology. Services and features will continue to grow.

In 2021, Norton Healthcare provided care to approximately 60% of West Louisville’s population. People living in West Louisville visited a Norton Healthcare hospital more than 45,000 times last year for outpatient service.
