New location-based, consumer-facing app improves patient access and experience
April February 29, 2022 – Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has launched a new wayfinding app that offers visitors and patient families step-by-step navigation around the hospital’s 309-bed campus. Nicklaus Children’s is the first children’s hospital system in the region to launch a digital health platform that brings together all consumer-facing access points into one easy-to-use mobile app. The implementation aims to align with an increase in demand for technologies that allow consumers to take control of their care.
“The introduction of MyNicklaus App wayfinding is a huge step forward for the children and families we serve,” said Dr. David Seo, CIO, Nicklaus Children’s Health System. “Creating a welcoming environment that minimizes the potential for undue stress during a child’s care journey is critical to our mission. We look forward to the opportunities for improved connectivity with our communities through Gozio’s robust digital health platform, as well as the potential to expand our mobile connectivity strategy in the years to come.
Patients, families and visitors can download the MyNicklaus app, which is powered by Gozio’s digital health platform, and take advantage of indoor navigation capabilities on the hospital campus. The Gozio platform provides turn-by-turn GPS-like directions along with patient flow capabilities that ensure patients are guided to locations in the order they need to be accessed. The MyNicklaus app also makes it easy to find on-site amenities, from restaurants to restrooms to ATMs, and helps patients access digital services like doctor directories, appointment scheduling, records patients, etc.
“Recent industry surveys reveal that the vast majority of healthcare CFOs believe digital healthcare transformation is critical to future positioning. And for good reason: consumers are increasingly demanding digital engagement as part of a positive healthcare experience,” said Joshua Titus, CEO and Founder of Gozio Health. “Nicklaus Children’s is setting the tone for digital engagement in the South Florida children’s hospital industry, and we salute their vision and desire to provide positive healthcare experiences for children and families.”
