The event was great fun with attendees dressing up and enjoying pastries, cakes and of course cucumber sandwiches.

Afternoon tea was served on fine china and was a pretty and elegant affair.

Deborah Schofield of the Tomaree Community Hospital Auxiliary told News Of The Area: “105 ladies were in attendance and the guest speaker was our local member Kate Washington.

“It was a fun day for those who participated.

“New friendships were made and the glamor was seen with a stunning fashion show of all of Donna-Lou’s new season styles.

“The conversation was light and happy, it was a fun and chatty day while being a successful fundraiser for our local community hospital,” she said.

A total of $3,200.00 was raised and proceeds from the day will help fund the hospital’s wish list of non-government funded items that can improve the quality of care and patient well-being.

This includes providing comfort to patients’ loved ones in the palliative care unit and upgrading furniture, heating and air conditioning in the Queensland ward.

The hospital auxiliaries thank the ladies of Port Stephens for their support.
