First Worcester warns of delays in hospital services

Motorists are warned as major delays are expected to hit city roads.

First Worcester has warned it expects ‘serious congestion’ on several services.

This comes after temporary traffic lights were put up on Rainbow Hill.

It is also expected to cause traffic problems within the grounds of the Royal Worcestershire Hospital.

Services 34, 35, 38 and X37 are likely to be affected.

A spokesperson for First Worcester said: ‘We expect severe congestion on 34/35/38/X38 services due to unscheduled temporary lights on Rainbow Hill and forecast congestion inside the compound of the hospital.

“We apologize.”

The bus service also warned there was likely to be a ‘disruption’ to the X50 service which runs between Worcester and Evesham.

This is due to the ongoing Mop Fair in Evesham.

Worcestershire County Council has now confirmed that the temporary traffic lights on Rainbow Place will be in place throughout the weekend.

The multi-directional lights were erected so that CityFibre could complete the work.

They must be removed on Monday.
