Delhi Municipality and Hindu Rao Hospital became the first organizations to provide round-the-clock medical services through the OPD “eSanjeevani” project, run by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
“It was a great satisfaction that MCD set out to launch a program that symbolizes the congruence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi de Jan Aarogya’s two visionary and flagship programs – Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Digital India. Hindu Rao Hospital has taken a big step forward in implementing this ambitious project,” Saxena said.
Hindu Rao, MCD’s largest hospital, has faced financial problems with strikes by doctors and healthcare staff over non-payment of salaries. Saxena said he was aware of the issues and would spare no effort to address and resolve them within the time frame. “I am committed not only to restoring its glory, but also to taking it to new heights as an exemplary center of excellence in medical services and public health care. To achieve this goal,” Saxena added.
He called on doctors, paramedics, technicians and support staff to engage as proactive actors and take ownership of the facility.
Saxena also said his main concern was pollution of all kinds, adding that it was the biggest public health challenge in Delhi.
